Hey Ladies,

This is Val in Terre Haute. Just wanted to say that I am working on designing a sampler for a Orenburg style scarf. I love designing and knitting the sampler but the corrections to my pattern are never ending. As soon as I find a typo then back to the computer to correct the typo. But for the sampler it is looking real good.

How is everyone else?

Soon to snow by Friday in Terre Haute :)
Missing all of the group, Val

  1. Hi Val!! I'm glad to hear that you're designing in the Orenburg style - I know you have enough yarn to make anything you want!

No snow in Atlanta, but that's normal. I'll be going to Michigan in a few weeks - going with sister (aka Chris) to see Jersey Boys. I saw it in Atlanta and it was great, so I'm taking my mother for her birthday.

I'm working on a couple of Christmas gifts now, scarves out of Kid Silk Haze. I'm loving every stitch. I'll try to post some pics if I can figure out how.

  2. I understand about the picture thing. I had a hard time trying to do that.
When I get one of my designs knitted. I'll have to learn how to add another picture.
I haven't been back to Michigan in a very long time. Have Fun with your Family.
Yes I do have allot of yarn. Some I love to knit with and others the colors are so nice.
Guess you can say I like fibers. I also spin when I have the time.

  3. Val - That sounds so fantastic. I've been working on my first shawl, but have been waylaid by other projects with time constraints and (very sadly) some personal losses. It got pretty cold here in San Francisco. Snow level went down to about 1500 feet, which is pretty amazing here. When I flew to Los Angeles last week there was snow everywhere! I, too, know the picture posting issue but would love to have a look at pattern progress.

  4. Wow Val, you are amazing. I had to set mine in order to get another project done. It was to be a birthday present for my mother-in-law. I didn't make it!

Nan has come and gone. Wonderful two days and Jersey Boys was excellent. I would go again in a minutes.

Did anyone else order the cookbook? Correct me if I am wrong but I thought I was going to get the cookbook George and Galina put together. I thought it was in press and that is why it was not available when we were in Deluth. The book I received is Please to the Table copyright 1990.

Laura, would you please send me George's email again (I have lost it - long story). I need to follow up on this but would be grateful in anyone has any thoughts. I may have misunderstood.

    thanks

    Chris

  6. Happy Holidays to all. Chris, I got the same cookbook, but that's what I was expecting . . . Sunday is our annual Latke party (50+ people expecting my out of this world potato latkes). I'll be making a potato kugel from the cookbook which will give us a bit of a break from frying!
